Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin SPLIT
We have to say, we were pretty surprised to read Gwyneth's statement today, posted on her Goop website.
Conscious Uncoupling is what she and hubby Chris Martin are calling it. We're calling it plain ol' sad. The two announced that after 11 years of marriage, they have decided to separate.
Here is their official statement: "It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner. Love,Gwyneth & Chris"
It's hard to judge what exactly led to this decision, especially considering Gwyneth and Chris really did a great job at keeping their private lives private... and we can expect that to continue.
Sources say they are "planning to remain out of sight for the next two weeks or so." Their main focus now is protecting the privacy of their two children, Apple and Moses.
